The Best Gay Saunas in Asia

Looking for a sauna in Asia? You've come to the right place.

Asia is home to some of the best gay saunas in the world. Thailand, Japan and Taiwan are especially well-equipped, if you’ll pardon the expression, with saunas. We’ve done the rounds and reviewed these saunas - a tough job. Here’s our definitive list of Asia’s finest.

    Chakran Sauna, Bangkok

Located in the heart of Bangkok, Chakran is a leading gay sauna. This multi-story venue has an array of top-notch facilities, including a steam room, dry sauna, hot tubs, and a rooftop pool that provides impressive views of the city. Chakran also has private cabins for added privacy and a well-equipped gym. There are also massage therapists on hand if you’d like to book a private session.

    Soi 13, Taipei

Soi 13, formerly Rainbow Sauna, is a popular gay sauna in Taipei's Zhongshan District. It has all the usual features: a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, private cabins, a dark room and maze. Despite some complaints about higher prices for foreigners, the venue is praised for its friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere. Our loyal Travel Gay reviewers ensure us that a disproportionate number of hot, young guys can be found here.

    Hans Men’s Sauna, Taipei

Hans Men’s Sauna is located in the heart of Taipei’s Ximending District. The sauna features a spacious wet area with multiple showers, a large hot tub, a dark steam room, and a dry sauna. The facility also includes dark maze areas, private rooms, and a rooftop smoking area. While the sauna has older facilities, it is appreciated for its friendly staff and competitive entrance fee.

    24 Kaikan Shinjuku, Tokyo

24 Kaikan Shinjuku is a popular gay sauna in Tokyo. The sauna offers a variety of facilities across multiple floors, including hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and private cabins. The best times to visit are between 8 PM and 10:30 PM when the place is most lively. The crowd is a mix of locals and foreigners. This is, in fact, one of the more foreigner-friendly saunas in town.

    He’s (formerly Hyundae Sauna), Seoul

He's Sauna, located in Itaewon's gay district, is the main gay sauna in the area, formerly known as Hyundae Sauna. Open 24 hours, it is most bustling in the late evenings. The facilities include a dry sauna, lounge area, video room, internet station, private cabins, and a dark room. There's also a pool, and snacks and drinks are available. To get there, take Exit 4 from Itaewon subway station.

    Hutong Sauna, Hong Kong

Hutong Sauna in Hong Kong is well-maintained, attracting a diverse crowd of locals and tourists. The sauna is often bustling with activity, especially in the dark maze and "No Towel Zone." The mix of muscular locals, twinks and curious foreigners makes for a lively scene. First-timers can enjoy a discount, and despite its higher price (around HKD 205 for tourists) and somewhat tricky location, it’s worth making a trip.

    Ten Men’s Club, Singapore

Ten Men's Club, located near Outram Park MRT station, has hosted many memorable evenings. The ground floor includes a locker room, a small infrared sauna, a two-room steam room, showers, restrooms, a warm tub, and a screened outdoor smoking area. The second floor features a modern gym and TV/cafe area. The third and fourth floors have playrooms, dark rooms, and cabins with floor pads. The clientele is mostly Chinese/Asian men in their 40s and 50s, with a mix of Malay, Indian, and Caucasian visitors. The club is popular for its welcoming atmosphere and affordable S$15 entry fee.
