    Vlychada Beach
Located in south Santorini, Vlychada Beach (also known as "Moon Beach") is famous for its moon-shaped landscape, dark sand, pebbles and large rock formations which have been beautifully carved by the wind.

The farthest section of the beach is popular with gay sunbathers and nudists. The other side of the beach is a more 'mainstream' area called "Theros" where you can enjoy cocktails, have a meal and watch the sunset.

There is a tavern that rents sun beds and umbrellas.

    Not a real gay presence

While the people seem generally pleasant (no weird looks or strange stares…), there doesn’t seem to be any real great presents at this particular beach. Further down, there is an area on the beach that may be more prone for nudist or gay tourist, but there are no rental umbrellas or loungers. You would have to bring those things along with you, along with any refreshments. Because it is a black sand beach, be have to be sure to bring sandals! The beach is too hot to walk, barefooted, especially my day.
