Gay Tampa

Tampa checks all the boxes for cool city break status, with expansive strollable neighbourhoods, fascinating museums, a varied and multicultural culinary scene and a number of independent and trendy bars. Tampa is becoming an increasingly stylish gay travel destination, and whilst the city is not as liberal as Orlando or Miami, it’s still an incredibly gay-friendly destination.

The gay scene in Tampa can largely be found around the historic “Ybor city”. In the district, gay travelers will find a plethora of gay bars and clubs, many of which host regular drag shows, cabaret performances and themed nights. There are also a number of LGBT+ focused events that take place in Tampa throughout the year, including the Tampa Pride and Diversity Parade and the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Although Tampa is a fairly conservative city, the LGBT+ community is alive and thriving with pride.
