About Wilton Manors
Wilton Manors is an LGBTQ+-centric city located just north of Fort Lauderdale in Broward County, Florida. Though it operates as its own municipality, it is often considered an extension of Fort Lauderdale’s gay scene. The city is just two miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale and around three miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Often referred to as "South Florida’s Gayborhood," Wilton Manors has one of the highest LGBTQ+ populations per capita in the U.S. and is home to many gay-owned businesses, bars, and cultural hubs. The heart of the action is Wilton Drive, a walkable strip lined with gay bars, clubs, restaurants, and cafés. Popular bars like Georgie’s Alibi Monkey Bar, The Eagle, and Hunters Nightclub have everything from cocktail lounges to drag shows. The city also hosts Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade, one of Florida’s largest LGBTQ+ events, drawing thousands of attendees each year.
Beyond the nightlife, Wilton Manors has a laid-back, welcoming vibe with plenty to do during the day. The Stonewall National Museum & Archives offers a fascinating look into LGBTQ+ history, while outdoorsy types can explore the Island City Park Preserve or kayak along the Middle River, which winds through the city. Wilton Manors is also known for its brunch culture, with places like Rosie’s Bar & Grill serving up legendary mimosas and casual, gay-friendly dining.
