Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma is a good affordable option provided by Holiday Inn. The Maldives offers little by way of affordable accommodation so this is one of the few budget spots in the region. Some rooms are offered at $100 per night - most places in the region charge five times that or more.
You can get a speedboat from the main airport rather than a seaplane. Island life greets you as you arrive at a resort that has diving and surfing at its heart.
Large picture windows are central to every room and so the sea is never more than a glance away. If you're feeling particularly adventurous you can swim with whale sharks or go on a dolphin spotting trip.
For romance, we'd recommend booking the Spa Suite’s private garden with plunge pool.
