I heard through friends. (after looking for the website that is no longer working) that Babylon has closed. The owner has sold the land to developers and retired. It was the only sauna in the world like it.. and I''ll miss it. I wish I could have taken some of the amazing artwork or antiques home!

I been there on December 2019. The facility is very nice and a lot of nice guy especially foreigner. Not a lot of local. But i like it. One place that I will sure go again.. I miss the experience a lot.

I consider Babylon home. I’ve been visiting Babylon for the last four years and always meeting amazing guys from everywhere. Chat. Having a laugh. Sharing experience. Yet, having a stunning time. The number of people there has recently declined due to the virus situation. I was there three days in a row. And met lovely friendly guys. Thai( The gorgeous Mama). Swedish. Danish. Canadian. Aussie. British. A unique place. I can’t imagine Bangkok without Babylon. I always connect with Babylon and its people but this time I fell in love completely. My partner and I have visited Babylon for many years and have witnessed standards gradually eroding. Today's visit was the worst ever and a total rip off. The guy manning reception was so unwelcoming. No good morning, hello or Thai smile. This was at 10/30 this morning. Our vouchers we're not valid because this week is party week. It cost Baht 800 to sit on opposite sides of the pool. There were plenty of loungers with towels on so spoken for. Food and drink are good and reasonably priced. Having just left the One Seven Gay Sauna in Chiang Mai this was a real let down. The One Seven Club is excellent with super friendly staff. If you get the chance go and experience the difference. It's rather surprising to pay for an evening party at 10/30 in the morning, Stuart. UK.

I have visited Babylon for years regularly and still find it one of the best places in Thailand. It's clean, the staff is super attentive and friendly. A few guys at the entrance are not really greeting customers, but the rest is very friendly. Love their locker room (though lately no condoms and lube is placed in the lockers). Babylon is simply more than a gay sauna. I sometimes just go there to eat. The food is really good. The drinks are great and the prices are very competitive with restaurants outside. The customers over the years have shifted very heavily towards western clients though. So, for a lover of Thai men there are not many choices anymore. But it is still my no. 1 place to visit for fun and for spending a great time.

I went to Babylon five times over a week in early November. It was sad because it used to be great, now it is terrible. The cleaning staff, are lazy, spending most of their time on their mobiles. I think in my five visits I saw one cleaner do one cursory clean of some of the cabins. The music in building B is the same three CDs as when I last visited five years ago. I asked the manager and he said it was what the owner wants, even though I have never in all the time I have visited Babylon, going back 17 years ever seen the owner go into building B, at least during opening hours. The area that used to be the naked zone and used to open every evening, is now only open from 7 pm on Fri-Sun, which means the rest of the place can get packed between 5-7 at weekends. Which some people might enjoy but to me it means the saunas and steam rooms get over crowded. The whole complex is looking tired, especially the hot tub.,The whole place really needs to be upgraded. And one word of warning. Of my five visits, twice they tried to charge me for drinks that I did not have. So make sure you check the bill thoroughly when you leave.

It is an exclusive place for mostly Chinese tourists and European tourists/expats who live there and have sex on daily basis. The demographics can be high with exception of Chinese and many do have an attitude with various cruising etiquettes. Since it is prices much higher than other saunas, you will rarely find locals there.

Simply, on the money. My friend and I visited Babylon on Friday and Sunday and had a superb time. I travel extensively almost 200 days per year but never connected to a place like this. I have met amazing guys and we became friends. Faffing about and around. Nothing is better than chatting with the lads at the cafe or dip in the pool or use the facility. Highly recommend the place. I come here every single time I visit Bangkok. (9-10 times) a year ( I live in Asia). I always meet amazing lads there. We chat. We laugh. We share our story and journey. I travel a lot and never ever connected with a place like this. In my eyes and my relative experience, the lads working at the reception are lovely and always smile Sauna is perfect to me. I experienced my first visit to Babylon on the 20/5/19 and was pleasantly surprised. Once I paid entrance fee and got my locker key, both guys had sad faces in the land of smiles? unlike the other members of who I encountered during my time there. The facilities were second to none both inside and out. Especially loved the swimming area to catch some extra sun over a nice cold drink. Met lots of really nice guys, especially some stunning Thai guys. Babylon certainly delivers and even takes it to the next level. Thanks.

I am a fit 30 years Asian guy. When I visited there, there were quite many people. but 70% were old men and 30% were local and Asian (chubby or sissy). If you prefer older gays from all around world, you must go there. But if you want to meet hot Asian men, go elsewhere.

Compared to Taipei soi 13in, Babylon has much more Westerners, and it attracts me to spend a crazy weekend here from Taipei. I like towel-free parties to meet sexy, hairy daddies with grey bear and hair. Nice restaurants and pool surrounded by guys with a suntan. Taipei has hundreds beautiful Asians with great bodies but few Westerners. So it would be better for me to fly here for weekends instead of fighting with young twinks for grandpas. Babylon is definitely the number one place for Caucasian customers, and Taipei needs a big gay hot springs sauna/resort with international standard for gay tourism.

I was there for a week since Jan 26 and had the most wonderful time in my life. Every morning after breakfast with terrible ham, I swam and suntanned while watching beautiful bodies around. In the afternoon, walked into the dark area to find someone to get into the cabin. In the evening, Good actions happen in the jacuzzi and steamy walkways...also had a drink sitting in the yard with someone who just met not long ago. Towel-free parties were fantastic and had good dances with several sexy guys. To sum up, Babylon is the number one around the world for those who love Asians and Asians love other races, and definitely I will try to sneak off the door without my dog noticing and fly to Babylon for good action, dirty, perverting with no moral weekend.

I have been 4 times and always look forward to going back. I enjoy relaxing by the swimming pool and watching all the handsome and sexy men. I also enjoy the multiple steam rooms and saunas (although a little on the hot side). I also think the food in the restaurant overlooking the swimming pool is quite good as is the poolside bar. Nice place to unwind and just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere and the sexy men. If you want to spend a little more money than the basic barracks rooms, they have some very nice rooms available as well as an old Thai house filled with antiques and art work. I really appreciate the breakfast that they serve if you rent a room in the barracks. Lots of fresh fruit, omelette made to order, delicious soup, croissants with fruit jam or marmalade, coffee, tea, bottled water. If you want to stay there, it can be very convenient and free passes to bathhouse. Make sure to book reservations in advance or you might find the rooms are sold out. Benefit of barracks (less expensive) and also group showers. Very clean and each room has a personal safe for valuables. Within walking distance of Lumphini MRT station. Many taxi drivers are not familiar with location if you say you want to go to Babylon Barracks. It is not on a main street. Hidden away down some narrow streets in a semi-residential, embassy area.

I visited Babylon on the 24th January and was greeted with the familiar impolite behavior of the middle aged man who hands out the keys. He seems to hate his job and despises his customers. I was surprized to find that they have not jacked up their prices, and the entrance fee is 260 Baht which compares favorably with that of other Bangkok saunas.That said the place looks rather nice. They open different sections at different times which is rather irritating and the lower naked area has been renovated and changed for the worst. On the 26th, on my second visit, there were masses of customers probably come to enjoy a rather tame x rated show. If you are under 50 and a farang your chances are good to hook up with a young Thai. A lot of action takes place in the huge jaccuzi and in the steam room. Why people choose the dark mystifies me. Surely a nice face is one of the best turn- ons. Their drink prices are very reasonable and a vodka with tonic is a bargain at 120 Baht. To sum up, Babylon is still the best sauna for farangs.

This is my third time here, It is the finest gay mecca I have ever visited. The opportunity to meet amazing men is unequaled anywhere. Having saying that, the barracks rooms could use a lot of improvement. My main complaints are that although you get free breakfast, you get instant coffee. Women start cleaning the washrooms early in the morning while I was trying to shower and meeting other men. It totally ruined opportunities to hook up. Aside from these complaints, the venue is great but the management take customers suggestions into consideration.

Been going for a few years. These days it seems they take customers for granted. The cleaners have been there for years and know they won't get fired. You don't see them clean any of the cabins. Several of the cabin doors have been broken and unlockable for years. The urinal in the ground floor toilet was broken five years ago and has not been repaired. The cheapest massage is 800 baht, even though the website still says 400 baht. Apart from the weekends, the place is dead. Despite this, the management make no effort to encourage custom by price incentives.

I love Babylon! So many hot guys there, and I met one guy two days in a row, and of course we played for a second time. It was a really hot encounter with him. Wish I could see him again! The truth is, you can meet the same people here.

I was in Thailand twice last year. I stayed at babylon as a hotel and was thrilled with my room and breakfast. The Sauna is always a GREAT time on Saturday Nights and Sunday most of the day. Super Friendly international crowd. Met my current ex boyfriend in the dark room... he's Chinese

Been staying in Babylon Hotel for a few days now, and have enjoyed my complementary sauna pass regularly. Until a few days ago when somebody decided to turn the steam rooms - that were until then perfect to sit and relax and play - on maximum level. Unpleasant. Impossible to stay in and relax (if that is what you want to do there). Otherwise... still a nice place. A bit less crowded than it used to be, perhaps?

I have visited this institution since it opened some years ago and it has done nothing but improve. It is a credit to the owner, his staff and the people of Bangkok. It was great, and yes, I feel that there should be more access to condoms and lube, but hey, the restaurant was wonderful and the service just great. Keep up the good work, and yes, I have stayed in their hotel section and it is international by any standard.

As I enjoyed a beer with 29 year old Francesco, an Italian from Doha, I reflected on the congenial atmosphere of the central courtyard whilst admiring the detail of the hanging gardens of Babylon to the classic tunes produced by an accomplished jazz trio. To all the nay sayers who question the light levels, the security, the cleanliness, the staff, the age of other patrons and various other misconceived ideas, I say what a load of bollocks. Babylon is a beautiful sanctuary where you can truly relax, have fun and meet other men.

The sauna looks good and has a big structure, but the services no much good. I went there in 13/03/18 and I had an accident in the wet floor close to massage room (the very old and plain slippers were the main cause of the accident.) My arm broke and I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days. I had to do a surgery to fix the arm. The sauna's manager or another person from the sauna staff never did call me to know about my situation. My vacation ends in the second day in Thailand.

How much is the entrance fee and how much it will cost to use the facilities here? Please advise. Thanks

Been back to this great venue after some time... noticed some changes: - no more condoms provided in the locker (why, everyone on PREP and no more necessary ?) - only 1 towel (instead of 2 as was always the case) - the steam room is too hot to support for longer than 5 minutes (where did this come from ?). But... yes, still a great place

Went for a few hours last week, mainly to get some last sun before returning home. There were many people around the pool with few chairs left, but I found a chair to sit. I don't think there is full time sun around the entire pool due to trees above. Great pool service. Great gym. Great restaurant and the place is clean. I made the rounds in the sauna and was well received. And the topped off the afternoon with an incredible massage by Leo. A VERY VERY talented young man, and very nice. Thanks for a great last day in Bangkok. I will be back.

I have visited this place a good number of times in 2017. I love it. The sauna is perfect. Facilities are fab. I have always have great experience there. Lovely, hot, friendly guys from Asia and Europe/ US. I had an amazing time at the Foam Party which was the dream came true. Been to this sauna a few times. If you like horny daddies then you are in luck. It's clean and well run to a point. But be aware just like in the UK you need to have your wits about you and the atmosphere can turn toxic without any warning. If you are a newbie to saunas then there are worse but I wouldn't recommend Babylon at all to a first timer. Its still one of my favorites but has past its prime. Whatever you do don't stay in their hotel either as safety and security is a lot to be desired at times. The other facilities are some of the best for this kind of establishment despite some looking a bit tired. I would recommend this place just to try the once.

Me and my boyfriend have visited so many saunas so far and were very excited to visit Babylon sauna too. We’ve heard so many good things about it. But it was a waste of time and money. At first, reception staff didn't look very happy about any of the visitors - not even a hint of smile. Lockers are worn out, some of them broken. Didn't feel safe putting my belongings there. One thing that shocked me was that everyone is walking barefoot. OMG people!!! Thats, not even unhygienic but also dangerous. Feet fungus is at its glory there. We were so glad we brought our slippers along. Saw so many guys walking to the toilet barefoot - remember, sometimes wet floor in the toilet isn't water at all... yuck... Crowd is mostly 50+ guys and money boys. We both are really young-looking couple and everyone smelled the fresh “meat”. So sauna wasnt relaxing at all. Went to steam room couldn't stay longer than two mins. Felt very intimidated. Older guys don't understand the word “NO”. If you kindly ask them not to touch you, that means nothing. Sauna is beautiful indeed but atmosphere is horrible. Couldn't stay any longer - we left.

First sauna in bangkok I going "sauna and steam room system is ok" in my mind I thinking can know local Thailand people. But here too many people from another country.

Babylon is a great facility but the patrons that it appeals to on the other hand is a different story. I went to the pool which was nice but literally was the youngest person there (I’m 29). The majority of people are 50+, overweight, bald westerners. They are accompanied by money boys and those who aren’t are only there to try and get money later on. The jacuzzi is tiny and dark but this is why older men like it. Thai guys are there but none of them were overly attractive. If you’re older then you will like Babylon and it’s a comfortable environment. If you’re younger and enjoy younger guys then don’t come until the evening and you may see some hot guys other than than it’s pretty much a senior citizens convention.

After visiting saunas in Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore & Auckland, this is the best for me. I had a great time even on the first visit. The only down side is poppers not available.

My experiences in Babylon was great. Had a very satisfying time in every respect. Just the kind of uninhibited feeling I want to have in such a place. Highly recommended. Wish I tried the massage. Maybe next time.

The place is nice. Mixed race of guys. Dark maze is not so big so you won't have much journey or choices. Shower area quite separate individual even they have some 2-3 connect together but it is not fully open. Steam room on ground are nice and lots of guys who want to have fun you will find it easily here. They provide clean 2 big towels, gel and condom in your locker. I went to check the hotel room for my friend. The room is OK but I hope my friend will like the idea of using shared bathroom with other guests in the hotel. I found the rates are very good with free breakfast and free access to sauna, gym, swimming pool everyday during your stay.

I stayed there for a week. The hotel the room is just fine. The food is very good. BUT 2 things are strange. 1. Some workers approached me to sell poppers. 2. Very disturbing. On my last day I went to the sauna and I didn't have Thai Baht. So I wanted to use my credit card. The staff member said the minimum amount is 500 TB. I owed only 150 TB. I told him that I did not have any money. He said "up to you", which was irritating. Then he said "ok. but you should give me 50 TB then you can use your credit card." I gave him the money and put the rest 150 TB on my credit card. There was no sign about 500 TB thing. In general, I believe that the staff here is kind of spoilt.

I was there on 15 June and I didn't see any hot dudes. All muscular but face just so so.

Omg guys where do I start? Was having a lot of fun at this sauna but arrived at 9:20 and didn't know that is closed so early. So anyway I was in the bathroom after having some fun in the sauna getting ready to leave and then this hunk comes into the toilet area and was smiling at me so I initiated more with him. He then asked me is he could stay at my hotel and I told him i wasn't staying at Babylon but a hotel further away. It then dawned on me that he was a hooker and I was liable to pay him. I then was scared as the place was almost shut and I did not have the money to pay for what he was asking for even though we only has 3 minutes together. I then rushed out of the cubical and he chased after me. He then yelled out to his manager who was coming to get me. I was fumbling to open my locker, dropping my keys several times from panic and finally got my cloths on and found the closest scooter to drive me back. This was a crap way to end the night and was not good to trick people out of their money like this.

Went there on Monday, contrary to what I've heard, saw a lot of gorgeous Asian men but not many Thais. While there are many aging Caucasians, many of them are very fit and not easy to get, hot daddies! All these hot guys like to strut around though, it's hard to get any action with them. Your locker provides condom and lube each upon entry. A vending machine is available for more at a very cheap price, appreciate this.

Go there if you like farang. Thai guys who like Thai or Asian guys won't go there. It is really not a place for locals.

Babylon is probably the most international sauna in Bangkok. It's a great place to find guys from all over the world, especially Asia. It has excellent facilities and attracts a crowd of all ages; tipped a little to Asians aged 20-45. The downside is a lack of local flavor and a small presence of money boys. A few of the Asians are a little snobby but most are nice.

I have stayed at Babylon many times over the last 10 years and never had as much fun as this Songkran. The foam parties and the pool parties were absolutely great and it is a shame they finished so early. Well done Babylon.

After numerous visits to BKK, and to many of the more local sauna I can now comment on Babylon. Yes, many tourists and non Thai. Meeting locals when I travel is a must, and probably why I avoided Babylon for so many years. But now I have, I shall return. Barracks rooms provide good basic accommodation. A pleasant view, room safe and comfortable bed met all my requirements. Others may prefer higher standard/comfort rooms. Shared showers/bathroom provided a great pick up opportunity first morning. But rest of stay bathroom use remained usual showering/toilet etc. Hallways to room didn't offer (during my two nights) any doors ajar or chance encounters. Grindr messages from behind closed doors were regular. Great breakfast. Communal tables encourage social interaction. Sitting down opposite the hottest (subjective opinion) guy in the room (at that time) turned many heads. What they didn't know was he and I had planned a breakfast room meet via grindr minutes earlier. And no we didn't depart seperately. Sauna seemed to be busier afternoon and early evening. Possibly explains why when checking into accommodation about 7pm staff suggested go immediately to sauna. Much earlier visit next day. Both visits much play. Total mix of guys of all ages and many nationalities. A bit of competitive attitude from couple of other Farang. One or two excessively possessive locals. No difference to most venues anywhere. Being older side of 50 didn't stop me being popular with varied age groups. All in all a nice way to spend couple of nights after traveling and visiting local friends for three weeks. Location isn't bad for going places. Taxi (car or bike) always out front. Just insist on meter use or be prepared to pay more than need. Traffic can be congested in nearby streets 24/7. Convenience stores are a bit of a walk.

I went last Wednesday mostly old guys foreigner in their 40-60's. Smell very bad body odor in shower area and steam area, the management can't afford to spray air freshener to removed that smelly thing! I will never visit this place again. No slipper provided. Maze is not properly design, its just like hallway, no thrill. Wasting my 230 baht. Recommended this if you want oldies, foreigner.

I went in Babylon late last year and i had d most amazing time. The action started at 6pm onwards and i had fun with a Singaporean and Indonesian. there were a lot of voyeurs but we didnt mind. d whole floor was filled of moaning and it was really pleasurable.

Babylon is a very nice gay sauna, but I have one serious complaint: the steamrooms (especially the one in the main building) are too dark. I do understand that bright light in a steamroom wouldn't be nice, but total darkness is horrible. I want to be able to see the guys who are touching me, so that I can judge if I like them or not, before getting intimate with them. I love steamrooms and I love to get intimate with guys in steamrooms, but I really need a bit of light. A steamroom shouldn't be a darkroom.

There are many conflicting reviews about Babylon and the type of guys who go there. A friend and I, both older US visitors in good shape went on Sunday. The place is huge, there are 2 different areas to play with lots of private rooms, 2 saunas and 2 steam rooms. The pool is very nice, surrounded by lounge chairs. There is a restaurant, a bar, gym, massage area and barber shop. The place was jammed with all types of guys: a real mix of Thai and White, and a very wide range of ages, from early 20s to 70s. I would say most guys were in the 30-50 age range. Very welcoming and something for everyone.

For me, Babylon used to be the best sauna in the world. At it's beginning, there were as many Thai as white customers. The sauna is still amazing, but the clientele is now mostly older white men, like a home for senior citizen. They need to find ways to attract Thai customers again.

I have been to the sauna at least six times and I even stayed at the hotel three nights. Would I go again! HELL YES! It's a very big and well-operated sauna/hotel, and it attracts some very hot and playful men. I had fun down in the sauna and even up in my hotel room from guys staying on the same floor. First, the hotel is clean and well-maintained. The room was nice and clean when I checked in, and I always felt very comfortable there. The sauna downstairs is very clean and a fun place to hang out. I spent most of my time in the pool area drinking cocktails, but I also went to cruise the play spaces, and had some memorable times with men too hot to describe here. My only regret about going there is that I did not have a few more days to enjoy more fun before taking a cab to the airport. P.S. Be sure to get a massage at Babylon. The guys are hot and really know their trade well. Attached is a picture of my room, which I was very happy with. I stayed in a room that has a shared bathroom/shower feature, but it was never busy and always clean and nicely stocked with soap, etc.

This is probably one of the best gay saunas I have visited, and I have visited a lot across Europe, North America and Asia. It's rather stylish, tastefully decorated, clean and often frequented by very cute and goodlooking guys. I even stayed in Babylon hotel, three times this year, which I warmly recommend to all travelers. Great rooms, perfect, just perfect breakfast with three older Thai ladies making you eggs the style you like, which makes it feel like home. Just what you need after a night full of pure men's pleasure. I'm surprised by all the bad comments I read about Babylon! It's most probably competition puting up a dirty fight.

Visited this place while recently in Bangkok. I had always heard this was the "holy Grail" of saunas worldwide. Very disappointed . While it was large and clean , the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, the steam rooms and most cruising areas completely black , dangerous and claustrophobic . Having never been there before it was difficult to negotiate your way around and find things. Staff when asked weren't interested in helping. Tried to order food by the pool, left hungry! Sansuk in Pattaya leaves it for dead.

A regular visitor to Bangkok, found this sauna Babylon is big in therms of building and facility. No doubt they attract many attention to give a try and to coming back. This sauna is perhaps the biggest in SEA region and therefore if the suggestion could take over from a regular visitor would be great. Lets not judge and discriminated over an age, we all know that it is just a number however, a wise ways has to be taken on how to pleased the younger needs. A sauna next door encourage silvers/gold aged one to pay a higher entrance fee (double) than the one below the silver which some of us finds wise and great. Hope Babylon would do something (not to avoid) about it, it is not a personal matter or taste but its just a common sense, as you turn aged then better to enjoy life in quietness, peace and calm. Some Asian perhaps wants to have fun with you but at the end, money talks, or be wise to find a BFF whom you can stay and play with. Just can't see them walking around, up and down stairs hunting for an unsure things to be happened or to the opposite of that. Just feeling sad about it, I am sorry daddies, hope you may find your way of life to enjoy as you already are. It isn't a discrimination purposes but for the good of all of us. PLU

I was there Thursday 11th Aug 16. Staff friendly. Place is kept really well and clean. The atmosphere is amazing. Facility and service are high class. I have had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place. I will defo come back. Enjoy and have fun

Locals suggested I go Saturday as busier so I did. I'd been wanting to go for years as it was like the Narnia of gay saunas. Alas I think my hopes were too high re size/venue. It's fairly clean and pool/garden lovely but inside the actual sauna it's only so so and not really any bigger then my home towns Club80. Punter was it was a diverse crowd with an obvious Asian leaning but it's really all types from the golden girls to muscle Mary's. Bring your own condoms as u only get one which I think is a first for a sauna that really should be offering more ESP with its word famous rep, and undermines the safe sex posters around the place. Booze not outrageous in price didn't eat here (find that odd) and had a massage near my hotel as locals suggested babylons very happy end focussed. All in all I can say I've been but the one in Paris was sooo much better and bigger!

I highly recommend Babylon Sauna for a truly great experience at a great gay sauna in Bangkok. I was recently fortunate to take a break from wife and kids and was searching for the best "man to man" experience I could find while in Bangkok. I researched a lot of reviews for the several, and it was some reviews that spoke of ageism, local guys, slim pickings etc. As a 47 year old male, that fortunately looks 42 and in decent shape, you can imagine I wanted to get it right. After reading reviews, I booked 2 days at the Babylon Hotel, which turned out to be a great choice. I booked a "Barracks Room", not because it was the cheapest, but because I wanted to enjoy the eye candy of shared bathrooms! The rooms were great, with nice comfy beds, great AC, great wifi and the free breakfast served on the top floor was awesome. I have to start by telling you how great the staff was. The reception had 2 males working when I checked in, one was very friendly- Siachon, and he carried my bag to my room. As we rode the elevator, I asked him if it was required for me to register a extra guest if I picked up a guy at the strip bars downtown. Siachon was great at letting me know if I wanted to have a private massage sent to my room, he could arrange it. He further said " and you know, BOOM BOOM is okay". I told him I would get back with him later to see if thats what I wanted. It was about 3pm on a Friday afternoon when I checked in. I was a little flattened when I found out I had not booked the days of the "once a month foam party" and was a week late. So, I approached the desk to ask what was the best time to enter the sauna. The clerks said "now now, go now". At first, I did not know what the urgency was- but later understood. I went into the Sauna using the free pass that comes with your room stay. Very nice club entry, friendly staff and simple. For me, I wanted to hit the jacuzzi as soon as I could. I am one of those that really enjoys entering a jacuzzi naked, able to watch others come and go and feel it is best place to either engage in some conversation or do a little fondling. By the way, so you all know- the jacuzzi is in building across court yard and not in main 3 floors building with lockers- know that in case you try and ask. I asked, and so many languages are spoken, I got strange looks and even more strange directions. I found it. I hit this first. It reminded me of so many the spas I had been to in some clubs in States. Two older and a little heavy guys sitting in it, I sat down and realized it was the awkward silence I have seen room a moment before. I took my towel and decided to try the "steam rooms". The description you have read are accuratev- they are more like a maze of walls, benches and darkness- lots of steam. What is awesome about the steam rooms is age , color or anything else does not matter! You basically can go around and feel what you want or be felt. I loved it. I ended up feeling some really nice bodies, tall, short, hairy chest, smooth skin etc. I left the steam room and took a quick shower. Basically, you have to remember, your with like minded guys, don't be afraid. I went into one of 2 dry saunas. They are hot, and they also have a little tv screen in them playing some male porn. Saunas are always a mix bag. I walked in and a nice looking Asian guy [was having fun with] an American Black guy, kind of under his towel. He stopped when I walked in. I took the upper bench, threw off my towel and layed on it. Im not one to cover up. I could see the black guy was like "why did he stop". I gave an apology . I said "oh, Im sorry did I interrupt him? I can leave, but please continue". The American guys answer was perfect! He said "yeah, right, I mean we are in a gay sauna!. The Asian got up and left, the black guy followed. I was kinda bummed because I wanted to take over where the guy left off! I laid around for a bit, an older heavy set Indian guy came in. As I showered I thought of all the great bodies I had touched, languages and fun I had. It remind me, to tell others - just relax, let lose, your in a gay sauna, its okay to express what you want- don't be uptight, don't be closed, touch want you want and let others touch you. I had another full day of fun the next day, except this time I let a guy in the jacuzzi finish me by 8pm and called it a day. I can't recommend Babylon sauna and hotel more then this. I know that the usual people that review a place only do so because they have a negative issue to resolve, not enough people that had a truly great time, take the time to leave a good review. I am leaving this, so if your like me, you can think out if this is the type of experience you want and expect out of a world know gay sauna? Babylon rocked it! The reason for the swimwear requirement in the pool is because condominiums overlook the pool. Would you like your family or children looking down on male naked bodies cavorting in the swimming pool? I don't think. Respect the neighbors. Babylon is a wonderful place to spend some sexy lazy times - for all ages. Young gays will be old gays some day, if they should be so lucky.

Great place to find White guys there. Very busy on weekend. Try glory holes at basement. Enjoy! Let stay in Sofitel So and fun in Sauna room during 6-9am too. So insipired.

Been there many times but I can't seem to see the improvements needed. Way to many old foreigners that should take a bath first ( especially when it's hot weather). OMG... Smelly and the cabins smell bad. If u know what I mean. Money boys and old farang please keep yourself clean.

I was all excited to swim naked there, and skinny dipping was awesome. That is, until I was yelled at for skinny dipping in a pool at a bath house. Since that's the main reason I wanted to go Babylon, it looks like my first time will also be my last. Straddling the line between being a hotel and a sauna, you end up with a strange mixed atmosphere and idiosyncratic rules. Also, I can confirm what other reviewers say about the staff here, especially the front desk. Very disconnected, bored, and/or just don't care. The place is run like it's just a machine to get your money and that's it. It is what it is. As for demographics, the caucasian clientele skews older, probably because of the hotel attached. And that means more flab, etc. It is what it is, so I don't know why people are surprised. Again. It is what it is. The asian demographic seems to be from out of shape to a few guys with nice bodies. So, the gamut. It definitely does not feel like a place where many local guys go, though. I was there from early afternoon til night, and I got to see the transition as things picked up more at night in the sauna area. There is action going on, but definitely feels very subdued and less sexual than other places. Maybe the thing here is to go back to the rooms... All in all, it's not your typical bath house / sauna, so that can be good for some and bad for others. The one thing that I think management should change is the silly rule requiring swimsuit in the pool.

During my visit in Bangkok..I went to Babylon three times..I was naked in the foam party I don't know why with underwears? Somebody whispered me on the ear "you are as sexy as Marilyn Monroe and I wanna do you""" was hot. And the steaming room is my favorite .. I always hunt guys there but end up separating..cuz they want to take you to dark rooms.. But I like actions everywhere...this is Babylon ..this is a gay place ..I don't need any gay secrets....i d love to visit Babylon everyday..there are guys with different races..more options:)

Having been to a few others I say this is still the Best Sauna in Bangkok. Many types and good facilities. I wish we had this sauna back in Phoenix. It makes ours look like a dump. Not understanding where they say it is boring. I suppose any night can be different, depending on the crowd.

Truly the most boring sauna I have ever been to. If they don't listen to improve, we can find other places to go. Pity the place is nice but just like other reviews on here, they need to do something about this. No gays want to go to sauna just to use the pool.

I should have read the review here before visited Babylon. I was actually wondering why such beautiful facilities but no one is having fun. I visited babylon twice during my visit in bkk and got very disappointed both times. There are large percentage of 70+ white men and the rest mostly skinny Asians that looking for sugar daddies... Absolutely no fun, zero sexual energy, very gross mostly... Save your money and time to go to other saunas.. At least you will get to see someone having fun

I first came to Babylon about 15 years ago, when I was in my early 20’s and have visited Bangkok and Babylon many times since. I am now almost 40 but still fit and never have any problem attracting guys my own age and younger. But at Babylon, it is now almost impossible to have a good time. The main reason is because the management is riding on their reputation as the “best” sauna in Asia and just doesn’t care. I went there three times in the past few weeks – twice on week-ends and once during the week. I had to wander around for hours, not just to find some fun but just to spot someone that I was even slightly interested in. I’m not into super fit or runway models. I like average Asian guys - Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, tall, short, slim, slightly chubby, 20’s 30’s 40’s. I’m not hard to please. It is true that there are all kinds to be found at Babylon – Asian bears, skinny, muscular guys from age 20 to 40, farang and Asian tourists of all ages and shapes. But by far the majority of non-Thai at Babylon these days are men over 65. All together, the money boys and their white grandpa clients make up 80% of the men at Babylon. It’s the same every time. I wouldn’t suggest that Babylon start charging older men extra fees, but if the management would do something about keeping the money boys out, then maybe they would attract a more diverse crowd. In my few recent visits, I saw many 20-40 year old farang and Asians walk around a few times and then leave after seeing what was on offer. Aside from not caring about the very obvious prostitution, the management cares very little about cleanliness. The pool area, restaurant, and café are well maintained, but the private cabins are often smelly and full of tissues and used condoms. It would be nice if guests would throw their condoms and tissues into the rubbish and even wipe down the sweat and KY from the mattresses, but many are just inconsiderate. But there’s no reason why management cannot have staff patrol the “Garden of Earthly Delights” continuously make sure the rooms are clean. No doubt the guys working at Babylon are paid a pittance, so management could hire more staff to make sure the place is clean. If you just want to hang out by the pool with friends, have a drink, swim, read, or whatever, then it’s not a bad place to spend the afternoon. If you’re looking for some fun, whatever your type is, then you will need a good bit of luck – unless your type is the over 65 crowd or "for pay".

Boring!!! Bad location, unfriendly staff and very unattractive crowd

I first visited this sauna in around 2000 and it was great - luxurious, full of gorgeous men and beautifully appointed. And it hasn't changed at all. And that's the problem. Nothing has changed. The plastic chairs and sunbeds by the pools are the same ones from then - and they are black with filth and age. The showers and fittings now look ancient - after fifteen years or so, if you don't change your bathroom it looks tired - and this place looks and feels exhausted. And when I visited today (and never again) there was no hot water, anywhere and it was only 6.30pm. The steam rooms were both tepid. The staff seem depressed - it just feels like no-one cares. I asked the manager of the bar area about the ancient cheap white plastic chairs (the sort you can buy in a garage for 10 euros) and he said "I know, I have told my boss about this." It's such a shame, because this could be a thriving business and a great place to visit. But it's become a neglected dive, and without some urgent investment surely can't survive long. What do other people think?

Love the place but would like to wear my gstring. But patrons cover themselves from the waist down with their towel whilst a few wear speedo type swim briefs

Wow, Babylon is still a must be. It’s a fun and clean place, the staff very friendly, all bill were charged correctly. Don’t forget your swimwear if you want to use the swimming pool. I came on new year eve's Pool and Foam Party is Very cool nice Music with live DJ, good shows. I'be back on next another party. I think its on every last Saturday of months and traditional Festival.

Great environment but afternoon crowd morose and snooty. Staff much the same. Need I say more? Go somewhere else for fun.

This is a very large sauna. Some parts seem to be a little confusing because some closed doors look equally like the walls. Very crowdy in the evening. Nice people from all over the world. Friendly staff.

We went there last Sunday. Will never go there again. Boring and far from the BTS train station.

There's no doubt in my mind that the owner of Babylon is completely aware of the desire by some for a more sexual atmosphere. The pleas for nude nights etc. are clearly being ignored, though it's as clear that the intro of the nude "basement" is a nod to those wishing a more sexually charged area. There is no inviolate template for gay saunas, though by some of the comments here you might think so. Saunas are what the owners have decided they want them to be. The pleas for change by some are the self absorbed delusions of men, first who probably "do well" in an unclothed setting, and two, feel their arguments will somehow bring about change. Babylon has existed for decades longer than any competitor. Those who are pushing for change are self absorbed and delusional, because they give no thought to those who will feel displaced by a nude policy and will simply not attend. And this doesn't only include the usual suspects, the out of shape and aged. Many locals are quite modest. Do these protestors have a clue what percentage of Babylon business falls into this classification? Not a chance. They just want what they want where they want it. The choice is so clear, you wonder why they're protesting so strongly. Take your business and frustrations elsewhere, instead of beating your heads against the wall trying to change a successful enterprise.

If you are looking for hot fun, don't come here. I figured with all negative comments from so many people here, they must have done something to improve, but no. We came to Babylon on Saturday, there were a few people and we observed people just walked up and down or standing around chatting with friends. It was truly the most boring experience we had in any sauna. On Sunday we decided to check out Mania. The facility is old and outdated but it made up by the muscular crowd full of sexual energy running around naked. It was a completely opposite experience out of the sauna in the same city.

It was nice sauna with open swimming pool surrounded by nice garden. We were there on last Sunday on June 2015 and it was busy. Overall: we enjoyed it except when we paid our bill. The cashier showed on his PC monitor about our expenses (it is not a print of bill on paper as usual). We were surprised because the bill was higher than our expectation after consuming dinner and some drinks on the pool. Double checked, I found out that the cashier include entrance fees (2 x 260 baht). Then he did typing on his PC unpleasantly, and said "it is your final bill minus entrance fees (with high tone, and speaks English that we could not understand)". Yes, it is correct bill and I need a print out. I said to him. It seems that he did it on purpose and tried because the entrance fee must be paid upfront. Second, that he showed on pc monitor is not an official bill as he is still able to amend it for his administration and put on his pocket 2 x 260 baht?

I totally agree with some previous comments here. This sauna has good facilities but completely ZERO Sexual energy. Guys just walk up and down and truly no one is having any fun. I think that the management think we just want to go there to use the pool, eat or getting massages. If you are looking for fun, go somewhere else. This place need to listen to customers need or we have others choice of saunas in BKK, perhaps not as fancy but we guarantee some hot fun instead of going to this boring place.

Are there any attractive guys here? I don't mind Asian, but I mean western tourists who are in good shape? I'm thinking of going to BKK and staying here, but there's no point if it's all old white guys and skinny Asians.

We went there on the busy day Monday April 13 and Tues (not so crowded). And found the place is a complete bore. People just walk, up and down. Absolutely zero sexual energy. My Thai friend said that Babylon usually have a tiny area down stair for naked but of course they don't care to implement that during Songkran. We left the place and went to Mania that night after the club and have a fantastic time there. Skip this place unless you just want to walk around.

Packed out during Song Kran. Babylon might not been quite a popular during "normal" weekends, with all the new competition in town, but during the big festivals its as reliable place as ever to have fun. And you can get a proper massage.

I love love love Babylon. It has something for every discerning gay. If you just want to have dinner with your partner and drink next to the pool or sauna steam cruise, have a massage even read the newspaper its all possible. It's big enough to mingle if you want or get some peace and quite form a distance. Best thing about it there is no hang ups and hysteria about Asian or not. Everyone has fun its an equal opportunities type place second to none. I also love the fact they don't have nude night, underwear night all those silly inventions which usually means poor facilities. You can just arrive and feel comfortable anytime. Some areas are nude so its optional. The staff are very friendly and will remember what drink you are drinking the whole night and are happy to chat if they're not busy. Afternoons up to about seven are best, more relaxed and very cute locals and young Westerners. The massage was very good, I had proper Thai massage 90 minutes but there is oil etc. The massage area is even more sexy than the sauna especially after the massage. For young Asians like myself it's fantastic for meeting other Asians and Westerners but sometimes I wish the price wasn't so expensive because I'am sure for a lot of locals it costs too much they can't have a drink even. So be nice and buy someone a drink and have a chat.

Not a condom available in the whole place, really sends out the wrong message!

Such ashamed that the place has very low sexual energy. I hope they will listen to all the reviewers here and host nude night. Without it, this place is no fun, just people walking around, extremely boring. With Songkran coming up, they should implement nude nights and make the entire inside back building nude. I really like the facility but without fun, I would rather go to other saunas in Bangkok that host nude parties.

I want to expand on my last comment. There I wrote that last Sunday I discovered that Babylon has a "nude area" which I thought was an isolated event. It turns out that this is their new "towel-free area" that is implemented DAILY! I have been there now Monday, Tuesday and today, and it is consistently hot. I would compare this experience with what I have at Sauna Mania on their nude events. And it is superior to any event at Chakran. Even with their high percent of Caucasians, I find at Babylon as much 'rice' as in the other saunas, with one notable difference: the 'rice' at Babylon is not 'sticky'. If this new feature follows the tradition of Babylon to consistently keep up the quality of their facility, I think that the enjoyment to be had at this place just took a quantum leap.

This last Sunday I discovered a new feature in Babylon sauna: a small maze accessible by going down a flight of stairs from the large cruising area in the second floor was made a "nude area" by an attendant who took everyone's towel in exchange for a tag, so that one had to go there nude. Maybe this is why that evening the sauna was packed with some nice bodies? If they make this feature a common occurrence it will be a good competition with Chakran, Sauna Mania and many others. I have no personal interests in Babylon. But I find that staying in its barracks and having free use of the sauna is by far the best value in the gay scene in Bangkok, which is to say, in the world. And Babylon sauna is proof that the coexistence of old and young can be a win-win situation. The old enjoy the young, and the young feel well treated by the old and a pride of being even younger in comparison with the old. And besides, the large crowd there offers a menu that can satisfy anyone.

I was looking forward to staying at Babylon hotel from what I had read online and from what I heard from friends. I was quite content being there and really found 99 percent of staff nice, pleasant and fun to joke with. I was extremely disappointed with the front desk staff member that checked me out. He wanted to charge me an extra 7000 baht, then I showed him my bookings and he changed it to 3,400 baht then said I owed for an alcoholic drink...I don't drink. A friend of mine had ordered a drink and I had paid at front counter a few days before when they mentioned it. I was with friends at the start of my stay and one had a small bottle of vodka which I knew about and a pack of peanuts. I knew and remembered to mention it then he mentioned another bottle of vodka which I knew was impossible because my friends had checked out to change hotels and the bottle that I was already planning to pay for was never replaced which was fine since I don't drink . Next was the issue of trying to charge me extra for my friends which I was upset with because they move one friend to the pinnacle a day after he arrived at Babylon and the 3rd friend never did stay the first night. I had one seperate booking for 3 1 night and the remainder of my days there for 2 and it actually ended up just being me. I knew the booking for 2 was the standard price so wasn't an issue...the issue was charging for 3 all 4 nights. I think thailand has some of the most wonderful and humble people but on occasion you meet someone who is out to take your money. I think I would be ok with the debate except for his dismissive attitude and not looking at the reservations I pulled up on my phone. Worse is that he never looked me in the eye the entire time we debated the extra charges. I was still wise enough to tip for all the other great and wonderful people that work for Babylon cleaning and driving people around.

Yes, Babylon is still a must be. It's a relaxed and clean place, the staff was very friendly, all drinks were charged correctly, and if you order a massage then it's your choice whether you want to pay a tip or not. But don't forget your swimwear if you want to use the swimming pool, otherwise you would be the only one swimming naked... that's a little bit strange.

Best sauna I've been to - mind you I've only been to three others! Place is big and can be confusing at first, but I think that's part of the fun. The pool area is nice and seems like a great place to relax. I was worried, based on the reviews, that the front staff would be rude. However, they seemed perfectly fine. I suppose there wasn't as much sex going on as I would have assumed, but I don't think that's much of a problem and something Babylon can't really do too much about. The mix of guys was pretty decent when I went (Friday evening and Saturday afternoon) and I managed to find something to my taste ;)

Being an avid visitor over a considerable period, it's a crying shame that the receptionist couldn't even afford a welcoming smile but worse, the guy who handed me the locker key couldn't even care less to look up whilst handing me the key. That first impression was the last impression I had, stayed for an hour and left. Now looking for another oasis for my next Bangkok visits.

Babylon is World famous but it needs sprucing up a little. The greenery around the lovely statues at the back of the swimming pool need to be trimmed as these are being obscured by too much and need to be seen more. The plastic tables in the pool area need a good clean and the whole of the outside and the entrance would benefit a lick of fresh paint. We all need a bit of a make-over now as again and so does Babylon. Keep up your reputation, I am sure many guys would help you in returning Babylon to its former glory!!!

Really the worse gay sauna ever. Bugs like Cockroach everywhere its disgusting. Smell is to bad. Stuff so rude. Condoms everywhere. Price unbelievable too high for this place. The first visit and the last ...

After reading the last review from Rowan, I couldn't agree more. We as customers need to go somewhere else and send strong message to the owner here that they DO need to host sexy nude parties... This place is an absolute bore regardless of the time nor day that you are there. That's really ashamed because with facilities like this, all they need to host naked parties to make the place less BORING. Does the owner think we pay money to just use the pool? This place is a joke, if you want fun, go somewhere else until they start hosting naked party. PERIOD

... And so as a dutiful tourist I made the pilgrimage. Came here 14/9/14 Sun 2-6pm. Like the bright lights of Hollywood I was initially awed by Oscar's well endowed cousin (the statue) and the sheer number of lockers promised greater things to come. BUT having been to other saunas in Bangkok ruined Babylon for me. I agree if you're looking for a place to lounge around on a nice Sunday afternoon with friends and spy the occasional eye candy then come here, but I didn't see much action (maybe it was too early?) Or maybe everything was so pretty people felt bad dirtying it up?

Babylon is not getting worse every day, it remains as good as always. I reviewed this place a year ago, Here I am today and nothing has changed. Here I was 9 years ago and I don't remember it much different. I find it clean as always, have not been stung by any mosquito, the food is consistently decent, the public has about the same mix of local, foreigner, beautiful, old. The atmosphere is the same: not a place for orgies, but a place to spend a pleasant afternoon and evening without having to run away right after having sex.

Babylon Sauna is getting worse day by day. The staff are impolite, the venue is dirty and needs a renovation. The entire place is like a dark room with used condoms and napkins on the floor. A problem with mosquitos everywhere and terrible smell. Unbelievable that a place of such price-level don’t want to do something for the comfort of their guests! Some towels are ripped but not replaced! The soap-dispensers broken! As for their restaurant, they have no menu, you have to select one of 5-6 items on display, fortunately not expensive. But their bars are overpriced, and you can wait the staff for a long time.

I have been at Babylon for the foam party during Songkran. While the place was packed and people lined up for hours outside, inside, people just stood around. There was absolutely zero sexual energy, just like previous viewers has said. Perhaps they should give out smaller towels to make it more sexy or go nude during these events. Very disappointing if you want some hot action.

Probably the best sauna in the world. The technical part is great. Beautiful, big and nice facilities. Cleanliness is another factor that attracts. Very foreigner friendly. You can make friends too. A problem with mosquitos around pool after 1800 and low sexually energy. Still if you are a foreigner, Babylon is the only sauna to go.

My first time in Asia and my friends recommended me to come to Babylon. This facility is probably one of the top gay saunas I have been. But I was so disappointed with the sexual energy there. Absolutely boring! At first, I just thought the Asian man are shy. I told my friends about that and they recommended I try different places (some in Bangkok, some elsewhere in Asia) and I realized that the set up at Babylon is probably the reason. That's a shame that with a great facility like this but management don't bother to host some sexy themed parties (like naked foam party) to solve this problem. I agree with previous viewers that the foam party here is lame elementary. This probably the most boring sauna in Bangkok as far as fun sexual energy goes.

Every time I go back to Babylon, even during Songkran, it was quite boring. No one is doing anything, it is really boring. This place seriously need to host naked party. I would much rather go to Mania naked party even though that sauna is not as nice, but it is always packed with hot muscular man and you are guaranteed to have a great time.

Insects, flies. The whole day. They land and walk over you when you are around the pool! And from 1800 hours, you have to run inside. The place is overwhelmed with mosquito's! I got to Babylon on the Friday before Songkran after seeing the ad on their website about the foam party. But they were NO foam party?!?!? They still have the nerve to charge double the regular price and offer no apology. This place is boring without any party theme.

The place is really nice and clean. It is a first class sauna. Top massage service! Very professional. I have to say thank you to Pham (hope to write his name correctly) for his top quality massage - a handsome guy with strong hands. He knows how to use hands to relax yourself. Used to be great but its going downhill. There are no more parties and the music is now classical. The crowd is old white men and working Thais guys looking for a meal ticket. The steam room smells quite bad. And its not as clean as it once was.

If you've been to foam party at Aniki in Taipei, then this one will be extremely boring.

Babylon sauna is great! People, staff, sauna and interior is so good!!!

I must add my review to the other outstanding ones. There is no doubt that the sauna is first-class. Furthermore, for the gay visitor to Bangkok there is probably no better place to stay. The barracks as lodging are a very good value, spacious rooms with most of what one can desire for comfort. The lack of private bathroom is not a hardship but it is even a plus, so well arranged is the common one. Other 'extra' I rate highly is the buffet breakfast on the 6th floor, not only because it is free and very decent, but because it offers a unique social interaction among such variety of gay men from all over, all ages and shapes. The location is a little distant from the busy areas and public transportation, but if one is healthy it is not an unreasonable walk, and there is always motorized transportation available to those who pamper themselves.

Great place to relax and have lots of fun. I recommend it 100% - do not miss this place - 5 star plus much more.

Tastefully Thailand from the moment I walked in. The facilities and service were excellent. As a global traveler who must try local food, local beer, and visit a local sauna I would rate this the best local sauna experience I have ever had in the world! Sauna Managers, here is your benchmark!

Babylon is simply the best sauna in Thailand, or perhaps it's safe to say the best sauna in South East Aasia. I agree with everything said in the review. I'm particularly impressed with the food in the restaurant and the service provided, worth every penny. The facilities are complete and very spacious. The sauna is always crowded with melting pot of international visitors of many shapes, sizes and ages at any day of the week, therefore it's guaranteed you will have plenty of fun anytime you visit this sauna!

Really a wonderful experience. I have been to Bangkok twice for my vacation and went to Babylon so many times. Every time I felt refreshed and simply amazing. It is a must to visit Babylon if you are in Bangkok. Everything is in one place -- food & drinks, massage, steam, sauna, dark rooms, swimming pool, gym. WOW!
