    G-A-Y Manchester

G-A-Y is Manchester's most recognisable gay bar and nightclub on Canal Street. The bar's affordable drink deals are another major draw, as well as the campy pop playlists.

The club is at its liveliest on Friday and Saturday nights, especially after 10 PM. This is when the venue really comes alive with a packed dance floor, energetic music, and a vibrant crowd. You can also visit the bar for a quieter drink during the week.

They did not let me in

Doorman asked me if I am regular, I said I am a tourist and he said this place is for a regular crowd only.

    Bouncer

I've been in GAY a few times but this time they didn't let me or my bf in because I didn't match what a gay man should look like. Don't go to this place they don't support gay people.

    Ageist

Doormen never let us in ( we're both over 40 ) it's become a joke with us, luckily there are plenty other places in the Village that will happily take our money.

    Disappointed

Guys, put some hand dryers on your wc pleeeaasssee! Not only I believe is more ecological and is it was really annoying having your member of staff asking me (after handing me paper to dry my hands) why I don't leave any coins. Do I really have to be in this situation where I have to explain that I normally don't have money with me as I pay pretty much everything by card/ Apple Pay?? Really?

    Rude staff

This place needs a reality check. Couldn't get past the doormen, I was sober and dressed smart. They said it was members only, the next two got in without showing a members card???? I asked was it because I didn't look gay? My friend turned up which knew one of the bouncers and I was ushered straight in. I kept an open mind but had to leave, the smell of the carpets and rude bar staff are enough to never go back again.

    Great venue

I was in two minds whether to bother or not.I used to go to G.A.Y years ago when I lived in London. I have to say for me it fulfilled my expectations and in some ways surpassed them. I'd heard it wasn't that friendly there but actually I thought it was great. Lots of fun, good music, mixed crowd girls, guys, young, not so young all just getting on with having a good time. Nice integrated bar/club definitely go again even though it is over 60 miles away. Maybe not for every gay man, maybe not for every weekend. Worth the effort.
