The Pipeworks is Scotland’s best and largest Gay Sauna Club, located in central Glasgow, near the gay scene.

Pipeworks was established in 2006 and has completed a much-needed £400,000 refurbishment program, upgrading facilities, and adding a new floor, including Private Cabins, groups room, Private Sling Room, and a Cinema Cruise area. Other facilities also include a Steam Room, Dry Sauna, Jacuzzi Spa Pool, Licenced Café/Bar, Mobile Phone Charging Facilities, and iPad browsing area.

The team is there to give a warm and friendly welcome to new and existing members – if you require further information or just to chat, please do not hesitate to approach the friendly staff, who are there to make you feel comfortable and have a great experience.

Optional Premium Cabin Upgrade £7 Weekday, £15 Weekend on top of the standard entry. This gives you access to your own secure private cabin accessible by smartwatch. Each cabin has clothes hanging facilities, a bedside light, and an adult TV option, USB charging & sockets for mobile device such as laptops etc. The venue also has electric car parking facilities outside.

Very clean venue, friendly staff, great facilities!

Visited the Pipeworks and felt the staff were very warm and welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. The facilities are really clean compared to other UK saunas. The layout is good across 3 floors including swimming spa pool, steam room, dry sauna and a cruising area. There is a TV lounge for relaxing with ipads and there is also a dark room and bukakee room. The place was very busy when I went and mixed of all ages, shapes and sizes, so something for everyone. I loved how its has a licensed bar which gave me a good opportunity to chat to staff and have a look at the talent walking around. Staff kept doing checks to ensure the place was clean and were really informative about other gay venues within Glasgow.

Used to like this sauna

The facilities are good, apart from the fact there is no douche a must for any gay sauna. They are now charging £2 for a can off soft drink, ridiculous! 50 pence for a second towel, every other sauna I’ve been to don’t charge, you always need a clean towel to dry with at end. They still give you free tea, but in tiny cups which are never more than half full, for all it would cost to give you a decent mug! The staff are friendly, but need better training in customer service. I have gone to this sauna once a week for years now, but seriously thinking off not going back

Excellent

I was visiting Glasgow over a weekend and had discovered this place on my last day. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. And the sauna itself was clean and facilities were top notch.

Loved this sauna!

I traveled all over the UK & Ireland visiting saunas along the way, and WOW. This was amazing. It's expensive, a little uncomfortably so, but I don't see how such as massive sprawling and well-maintained facility could be anything else. Loved the staff, had lots of fun. Will hopefully get to come back someday.

great and clean sauna

I went to the sauna for the first time. Very welcoming and friendly staff show around where everything was plus offer a free tea or coffee. The sauna was good and have wet and dry steam room.

Used to like it

It’s been done up, but what’s the point the service is bad? If you want a cup of tea, 9 times out off 10 they’ll say too busy or some other excuse. The guys are nice but need some customer service training.

Issues with Data Protection

Over priced, but recently refurbished. No other options

I've been coming here for years and I'm 30 now. It certainly looks much better now it has been refurbished, better facilities etc. But with a £6/year member card, and inflated prices it is shocking. I paid less for cruise bars in London, Barcelona and Berlin (with a free drink included) than the...I think now, £15 entry (£21 with the extra 6 for the year membership for first timers). It is very much a hit or miss at times and I'd only go late night Friday/Saturdays. Often older crowd but certainly some good variety at times! Also, as part of the refurb, they got new 'private cabins' installed down stairs that require an additional fee. I've never seen anybody use them especially because there are free cabins up stairs that provide exactly what you need. On a scale of very pleasant to rude, staff are around a 7. They are just...blunt and not very friendly. Even the way they talk to people on entry at times like they really don't care (which could be true but fake it because it's your job...) I only go on occasion now but there are no other options for this kinda thing.

Showers were hot!

Visited during the week for the first time with a friend. Signed up without fuss and explored the place. Other members really helpful in showing us around. Enjoyed the hot jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Played around in the cabins but the best time was in the showers by the sauna! No-one seemed to mind us losing all inhibitions and another guy joined in. I'll go back in a few weeks to see what the craic is like.

Cracking Place

I attended Pipeworks last month for the first time and to be frankly honest, its what you expect - Simple but effective! I entered the steam room first after a shower and there was around 15 guys within - mostly in their 30s and fit so I was onto a winner - It was amazing, Finally I went to the sauna and Jacuzzi and loved it too. I bumped into a hot mixed/Asian guy. We went up stairs and the rest was history. The place in general does need a fresh lick of paint but paying £10/12 pound what do u expect. Happy with my experience and going again this weekend!! Only area I didnt go into was the dark room - dont think its my kinda scene! Thanks Pipeworks, See you soon!

What you pay is what you get

The entrance fee is still somewhat reasonable regarding that in most gay saunas it's 20+ euros nowadays. Although not sure what these new membership cards are about. The place is on the rundown side, not what One used to saw in places like Berlin (when there still were saunas). But the relatively good natured Scottish clientele does make up a lot. Note: It tends to be empty on Saturday nights. In my experience it's busiest on Sunday afternoons.

Disrepair

Just been this evening. Place is in complete disrepair, sheets of paint peeling off ceilings and walls. Private areas and all ripped and have detritus around the mats. Locker room is rusty, I checked out a few of the open lockers and all where broken and filthy. A small number of the staff are [not so friendly]. I handed back my membership card to be told, "Okay, I'll just give it to someone else". Think the Data Protection Act will have something to say about that!

So old fashioned .....

You show up - the steam room is out of order - not working- a notice informs you of this fact - it also states there's no reduction in the £14:00 entrance charge. Then you discover it's a 'private' club and membership is £6:00. So a visitor to the city is expected to shell out £20 for a one off visit. The guy on the counter was unpleasant to say the least.

First time in Glasgow and a brilliant welcome

I was straight off the train on my first visit to Glasgow and The Pipeworks was my first port of call as I had a couple of hours to spare. It's a great place. One of the best I've visited. Friendly guys and lots of fun. Clean. Tricky to find my way around at first but this actually added to the fun eventually. Proper hot steamroller and sauna to really relax before joining in the fun. I can't wait to go back.

Went today but on arrival there was a notice on the door saying that the facility was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. There were two police cars and a police van in the car park. I would phone ahead before visiting to save a wasted journey. Hopefully will re-open soon.

Update on the Pipeworks

I was there today and I didn't notice the CCTV, where is it? I expect it is at the entrance and in the lift but that's to be expected. Since my last visit there has been a change in this place. It's quieter than it was before and, after an inspection by the Glasgow police, all the lub & condom buckets have been removed from the cabins (but still available at the bar) this is because the police say that as it is not a sex club (probably illegal in Scotland unless it's a private club). Because it is only a sauna condoms should not be necessary. They have also boarded-up the glory holes and removed the sling. Is nothing sacred??? Good old Glasgow, one step forward and two steps back.

Pipeworks works!

For Glasgow it's as good as it gets. I've had some hot guys here. I've been to saunas in Stockholm, Paris, London, Berlin etc. and I don't expect this place to compare but, it is worth a visit. The staff used to be friendly but I see now that there are foreign guys working in it and they are not so nice, perhaps because they don't speak good enough English. But, I don't want to have sex with the staff so that's ok. Early afternoons are good during the week, it then gets quiet and perhaps a few more arrive in the evening but I think from 1.00 - 6.00 is best. On Fridays nights through to Saturday night the crowd is very young and most of them are on the moon with drugs. I've never been on a Sunday but I expect it will be good, although the Glasgow crowd is very provincial and tend to gather in groups to chat, which always makes me wonder why they spend money on the entrance fee if that's all they are there for! The place is kept very clean and free lube & condoms everywhere. Good dry sauna, steam room, pool and showers.
