An inner-city gay pub in Brisbane that welcomes everyone. Today, this stylish pub offers a friendly atmosphere and a cosmopolitan feel.

Following a recent renovation, the bar has a new drinking zone and a new outdoor terrace in the former car park. There's also an upstairs nightclub and game room. The Wickham's restaurant serves food and drinks all night.

We were very impressed on how clean the place was on a recent visit to the city.

    Rude and Obnoxious

Might be gay friendly, but not tourist friendly. Had an expired license and cause my renewal was from a different state wouldn't let me and my friends in. Other clubs worth going to be treated better

    Sad

From 1993 to 2002 I frequented this hotel. Oh boy when it became ‘the’ place to socialise in the gay scene it was packed. The footpath outside sitting on the wall around those palm trees. But then it became a ‘mixed’ hotel and everyone started to behave. I’m afraid now that mixed venues are the woke scene. Bring back gay male only, let the girls go to Ruby’s. I loved the island bar and that far wall!!!!!! I’m 64 now and have very good memories. Beer was cheap then

Sadly not really a gay friendly venue

Having been to the Wickham on many occasions it is clear that this venue is only for young gay people. If you are outside of this demographic you will be ignored or treated with distain. It’s sad that this venue has become so superficial in a city with so few gay friendly locations.

    Unfriendly female at the entrance

I showed my country’s ID and was refused entry. I knew I had to show my passport but I couldn’t be bothered going back to the hotel to get it. The female staff at the entrance didn’t even suggest what documents I need to get in knowing that I’m a visitor. It seems that I wasn’t welcome at all. It was a Saturday night and I was there around midnight and the place was very quiet. I would give this place a miss next time I’m in Brisbane.

    A Must

Great Fun Friendly mixed pub, in the middle of the Gay action, Great food, Great decor. Sunday afternoon is a must! Sadly the female bar staff need a major attitude adjustment.

    Classy venue

I really love the design of this place - trendy, colourful and classy. One of the better looking bars here, it's slightly expensive but worth it for the cool ambience. Live music is a must!

It's no longer a gay bar

This place is no longer a gay bar, a nice pub but definitely not gay at all . No disco or dancing just poker machines a large lounge and a cool beer garden .
