The Best Gay Nudist Beaches in the USA

These are the US beaches to explore if you're looking to let it all hangout

The USA is home to many gay beaches, including several renowned for their nudist-friendly policies. We’ve rounded up our favorities for you. These are the beaches to explore if you don’t like tan lines.

    Haulover Beach, Miami, Florida

Haulover Beach is one of the most famous nudist beaches in the USA, located in the sunny city of Miami. This beach gives new meaning to “Miami Vice”. The gay area is at Towers #15, 16, and 17 (keep an eye out for rainbow flags), accessible via the parking lot at 15493 Collins Ave. This is the only official nude beach in Miami.

You’ll often find very attractive guys sunning themselves. Haulover Beach is well-equipped with lifeguards, restrooms, and food vendors. The beach hosts various events throughout the year, including LGBTQ+ beach parties. Sun’s out: buns out.

    Black’s Beach, San Diego, California

Black’s Beach is a renowned nudist beach located in San Diego, California. It’s one of the largest nude beaches in the USA, known for its natural beauty and very liberal attitudes.

Nestled below the cliffs of Torrey Pines, Black’s Beach offers a sense of seclusion and privacy. The beach is popular among surfers, offering excellent waves and a laid-back atmosphere. The surrounding cliffs provide hiking opportunities with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. It is a bit of a trek to get to but it’s worth it. Bring water and sunscreen with you.

Gunnison Beach, Sandy Hook, New Jersey

Gunnison Beach is the only legal nude beach in New Jersey, located within the Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook. It’s a popular destination for nudists and LGBTQ+ visitors from New York City and beyond. Sandy Hook is rich in history, home to old military installations and lighthouses, adding a unique charm to your beach experience. But with all the eye candy on offer, you won’t be thinking about culture or history.

Little Beach (Puʻu Olai Beach) - Makena State Park, Maui

The beach is famous for its Sunday evening drum circles and fire dancing. The clear waters around Little Beach are perfect for snorkeling, offering a chance to explore the vibrant marine life. Little Beach combines the best of Hawaii’s natural beauty with a relaxed, nudist-friendly environment.

To reach Little Beach, drive south of Wailea to Makena State Park, turn right at the sign for the park one mile past the Maui Prince Hotel, and park. Walk towards Big Beach, then head north and hike over the lava-flow trail to reach Little Beach. This beach is popular with naturists, offering a mix of gay and straight visitors, mostly gathering on the north side. The sand is pristine, the surf can be strong. Pack essentials as Little Beach does not have facilities such as restrooms or food vendors directly on the beach.

    Baker Beach, San Francisco, California

Baker Beach, located in San Francisco, offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and is known for its clothing-optional section, which is popular among the LGBTQ+ community. The northern end of Baker Beach is the designated nudist area. Its location near downtown San Francisco makes it easily accessible. Baker Beach is a unique spot in San Francisco, located just a few hundred yards from the Golden Gate Bridge.

To reach Baker Beach from San Francisco, drive west on Lincoln Blvd from the Presidio, turn left onto Bowley St, and right onto Gibson Rd, leading to the parking lot. Alternatively, take Muni bus #29, which stops near the beach. For a scenic route, follow the Coastal Trail from the Golden Gate Bridge area by bike or on foot. Be prepared for a short descent from the parking area to the beach itself.
