The Fairmont Heritage Place is located in the former Ghirardelli chocolate factory. It is sat in Ghirardelli Square, which overlooks the Fisherman's Wharf.
The suites have between 1-3 rooms which reflect the hotel's industrial past. The exposed brick and high celings bring a modern vibe to the living and dining areas. An outdoor, mustard terrrace makes for a great spot to relax in the evenings, with lounge-style seating and a fire pit. The hotel functions more as a holiday home, with suites that feature a kitchen, washer and dryer. There is even the option to have your groceries ordered pre-arrival.
The Fairmont Heritage Place is only a 15 minute drive to popular gay nightlife hotspots, districts Castro and Mission. You will find popular bars Twin Peaks Tavern, The Cafe and 440 Castro in this area.
Other local attractions such as The Palace of Fine Art, and the surrounding piers are all under a 30-minute walk away. Alcatraz Island is just opposite the hotel and is accessible by ferry via the piers. Dining options ranging in prices are plenty and in close proximity.
