Halifax Pride Festival 2025: dates, parade, events

Get ready to celebrate diversity and inclusion at the 2025 Halifax Pride Festival from July 17  to 27! This annual event is an 11-day celebration that packs in over 150 exciting activities. From community meetings to a huge Pride parade, there's something for everyone to join the fun and celebrate the vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

About Halifax Pride

Halifax's LGBTQ+ community held their first Pride march in 1988. Facing discrimination and violence, around 75 brave people marched for equality and legal protection. Some wore paper bags, not in shame, but to protect themselves in a climate of fear. This small protest marked the beginning of the Halifax Pride Festival, which has grown into a vibrant celebration of diversity that welcomes over 120,000 participants today.

Halifax Pride Parade

Join the 2025 Halifax Pride Parade on July 19! Kicking off at 12pm and starting at the north end of Ahern Ave., the march will travel south on Ahern before snaking its way through the city streets, ending at the Garrison Grounds.  Accessible viewing areas are available along the south side of Sackville St, with designated areas for low sensory needs inside the YMCA on Sackville St.  Accessible parking can be found at the Wanderers Lawn Bowling Club with a parking pass.
