Tokyo Rainbow Pride is Japan's largest annual LGBT+ celebration, featuring numerous events, activities, parades, and parties across Tokyo. In fact, it's one of the largest Pride events across Asia! In 2025, the event will get a facelift and will now be called Tokyo Pride. The event is also moving its former April celebrations to June, joining the rest of the world in celebrating Pride Month.
Tokyo Pride 2025 is happening from June 7 to 8 at Yoyogi Park Event Square! From colorful Pride parades to queer art exhibitions, the celebrations brings together LGBTQ+ voices and allies from across Japan and beyond, combining cultural events, activism, and educational programming throughout Tokyo.
Pride Festival at Yoyogi Park
The two-day Pride Festival at Yoyogi Park’s Event Square is one of the biggest highlights of the season. LGBTQ+ organizations, businesses, and supporters from Japan and abroad will host booths across the park, creating space for community, conversation, and connection. Live performances on the outdoor Pride Stage will run throughout the weekend, blending music, drag, dance, and more—all while celebrating identity across gender and sexuality.
Pride Parade: Sunday, June 8, 2025
The iconic Tokyo Pride Parade steps off on Sunday, June 8th at 12:00 PM, making its way from Shibuya to Harajuku. Tens of thousands are expected to join the march, building on the 15,000 participants in 2024. As always, the parade calls for equality, dignity, and human rights, echoing decades of LGBTQ+ activism around the world.
Youth Pride: June 14–15, 2025
Organized by the TRP Youth Project team, Youth Pride is a weekend-long event focused on LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. Held at WITH HARAJUKU HALL, the event encourages self-love and empowerment through interactive booths, talks, and entertainment under the themes of "learn, work, play, and live."

Queer Art Exhibition
Showcasing works from LGBTQ+ artists across mediums—painting, photography, sculpture, and installation—this special exhibition will offer a platform for expression, storytelling, and activism through art. Visitors can also participate in a community vote and support artists directly, with select pieces available for purchase.
Human Rights Conference
Set to take place in late June (venue to be announced), the Human Rights Conference will bring together activists, legal experts, and community members to explore intersectionality and equality in Japan. Panels and discussions will center on the current challenges and progress in LGBTQ+ rights, all within the framework of this year’s theme.
