Gay Crete · Restaurants & Cafes

Crete has plenty of cafes and restaurants - you're in Greece, for heaven's sake. Cafe culture is alive and well here.

Crete is known for its Cretan dishes like dakos and slow-cooked lamb, often served in family-run eateries using fresh, local ingredients. Coastal towns feature exceptional seafood restaurants where you can enjoy dishes like grilled octopus and stuffed squid with stunning sea views. For a more upscale experience, restaurants such as Avli in Rethymno and Peskesi in Heraklion are popular choices. Complementing the dining options, Crete’s café culture invites visitors to relax with a Greek coffee or indulge in local treats like bougatsa and loukoumades.
