    Welcoming and Friendly

A very cozy space with a warm and welcoming proprietor. Despite only being able to converse in English myself, the bartender and the two patrons at the bar next to me went out of their way to include me in their conversation and to make me feel at home. One of the customers even poured me a sample of the homemade black ale the proprietor brews and sells on the premises! (It's very good.) I had such a lovely time there, and would encourage others to visit.

    Nice cosy bar

Small but cosy bar, a friendly owner with his smiley face on, can converse in simple English.

A small bar but cosy and very friendly

Was not expecting much when I came to the Gnome bar. So it was a nice surprise to feel so welcome by the owner. A couple of nice korean guys came for a few cocktails and a californian guy came to see next to me and start to talk. Was quite a nice exchange. The place is clean, warm and the prices reasonable. Good luck to this little bar and his kind owner.

A cute little bar to visit

This little bar, off a side alley and up a flight stairs, is run by a very happy and smiling Korean guy - I wouldn't say he's a bear - maybe a cub? But anyway, like a few little gay bars in Jongno, it is a one-person operation. There were only a few customers each time a visited but they seemed friendly and willing to try and have a conversation with me. Most Koreans don't speak much English but it is fun trying to communicate with them. One thing about Bar Gnome, it seems to close earlier than the advertised times on TravelGayAsia. That may depend on the amount of customers present but maybe you should try and get there by say 1am to have a drink. I enjoyed the place and I think you will too.
