Seoul Gay Bars

    Seoul Gay Bars

Quirky and sprawling, Seoul is home to some of Asia's most exciting gay bars.

Despite the sometimes taboo nature of homosexuality in South Korea, it’s a well-known fact that Itaewon, the queerest district of Seoul, is a safe haven for gay individuals. It’s also in this cosmopolitan hub that much of Seoul's gay nightlife is centered, particularly around the Homo Hill area.

Attracting a young and international crowd, the gay bars of Itaewon are extremely diverse and cater to a range of tastes. What's more, a fantastic mix of locals, travelers, and ex-pats creates one of Asia’s most interesting and welcoming gay scenes.

Homo-Hill is brimming with gay bars and clubs and one of the best places to start is Rabbithole Arcade Pub. This gay bar is a favorite among local and international drag artists, so it's also a great spot to meet new friends. If you're into Seoul's quieter, more luxurious side, cross the river to Gangnam and enjoy a classy night at the gay-owned JR Bar, with its wines and champagnes.

Gay dance clubs in Seoul are listed on a separate page.

    Homo Hill / Itaewon

Homo Hill in Itaewon is the international epicentre of Seoul's gay nightlife located in Yongsan District. Many gay bars and clubs are located here, just a short walk from the Itaewon subway station.
